My evaluation of the portable friction mount September 12, 2007
Does the job for the Garmin Nuvi 660! Absolutely the best stand in California because by law you cannot fix the GPS unit to the windshield. Sure its not pretty but its the best alternative you'll find if you do the research.
Save yourself time. Make the purchase especially if you live in California or Minnnesota. Besides the suction mount (which comes with the GPS as part of the kit) lose ability to suction (especially with sun and heat) quickly.
Can you say "busted GPS" or "Oops, officer I didn't know...Please don't write that ticket"?

I used the friction mount with the Nuvi 350. It is highly recommended over the suction cup mount. You'll have the flexibility of relocating the GPS unit on the fly. You can also have passengers plot destinations while your driving and then place the unit back on the dash. The friction mount will also stay put in spirited driving and heavy braking.

We like the portability of this item far more than the suction cup. It can be moved around the dashboard easily; especially when my wife needs to search for close by shopping malls and restaurants while I'm driving. It's kind of bulky but I don't mind.

I've try so many product in garmin for my Garmin Nuvi 350. But it has come to an end because this product is the best for any cars, either u rent it or your personal cars. I remember when i went to maryland, speeding 100 mile per hours, just to try, if this product really worths it. I'll never confused you, this Garmin Portable Friction Mount is the best to go for. Moreover, the price is also unexpensive for everyone to afford.

The windshield mount is a joke. This product is excellent, portable, very easier to adjust screen angles, and stays in place even during fairly heavy breaking on the freeway. Product should be included for free in states where windshield mounts are illegal (i.e. California)... Universal fit, I've used for both my Nuvi 350 and a friends Nuvi 660.
