Product Description The ATP Photo Finder calculates and records GPS position data and allows you to precisely track the exact location and time of where your pictures were taken. Activate the Photo Finder while you're taking pictures with your digital camera. After you finish taking pictures, simply insert your SD, Memory Stick or MMC memory card into the Photo Finder's built-in card slot and the GPS data will be synchronized and added to all pictures on the card. Even more convenient is the fact that this is all performed "on the go" without a PC. All you need to carry with you is your digital camera to take the pictures and the ATP Photo Finder to log your location. Photos GPS tagged by the ATP Photo Finder can be used with any GPS compatible photo software or geotagged photo compatible sites such as Google Maps, Flickr, and Panoramio. For example, when used with the Google supplied software Picasa2, Google Earth, or Google Maps, your photos will be shown on an online map, giving youa whole new way to organize, enjoy and share your pictures. Share your pictures and trip route with your friends and family. More importantly, never forget where you took a picture again. You can also use your GPS tagged photos in a compatible GPS navigation system, allowing for features such as choosing your destination and landmarks visually. Partial Digital Camera Compatibility List: Canon, Casio, Fujifilm, HP Photosmart, Kodak, Konica, Kyocera, Nikon, O

Wait for the PhotoFinder Mini! Better chipset. September 11, 2008 The soon-to-be-released ATP GPS PhotoFinder Mini should address most of the problems with this product. I would wait for that one.
The Mini will have the SiRFstar III chipset, which should be a vast improvement over whatever is in this one.
Does NOT work. NO "customer service" September 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unit came with a damage "rubber" cover over the USB outlet, which doesn't really affect anything in the end, but the unit DOES NOT work at all. It continually searches for a satellite when even my TOMTOM and Garmin can find them. Continual emails to the makers of the unit go unanswered. Unable to tag any photos; unable to get past "hunting for satellite" no matter what I do. I'm used to using GPS devices; THIS UNIT DOESN'T WORK WORTH A DARN; Save your money.
Perfectly Useless August 11, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The ATP Photofinder can rarely get a GPS signal at all. But that doesn't matter, becaue if you are outdoors you can't read the faint display. But that is OK, because even if you could read the display you would get cryptic messages that would not tell you if it was working or not. Not that that matters, since despite the advertising i t WILL NOT accept xD cards anyway. Of course the extremely short battery life of the unit renders all me earlier criticisms moot.
What a POS! I sent it back, and I never send anything back.
PS: It is much larger than it looks and the carrying cord on mine broke the first day. And it will give you herpes.
Unit doesn't work and no technical support number! August 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Beware of this item. I just got mine and it doesn't work and the only contact for technical support is an email address (no reply yet). I called their main number, there is no link to technical support and when you try the operator you don't get anyone. Here is my problem.
I turned it on and it says the following
ATP Photo Finder..... Version 2.0 flash 123m Acquiring GPS signal GPS Errorwait 3S ATP Photofinder Power off (it doesn't always show this line)
Then it just powers off. I have tried this multiple times.
It just does not work July 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have had all the problems described in the other reviews. I have never been able to tag a photo. This is using a standard Nikon D60, a camera on the compatibility list. I have encountered the problems with the random power off, made worse by the unreadable screen, so it's hard to tell if it off or not. It eats batteries. The work-around software does not work.
In short, this device is totally worthless.
Unfortunately the Amazon web site will not allow me to rate the item at its true value of zero stars. One star is excessive for something which simply does not do the one thing it is supposed to do.
