Useless for car dashboard November 13, 2008
Encouraged by the first reviewer's feedback , I had planned to use it on my car ( a 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante). After I received it from amazon, I was very surprised to discover that there is no assembly instructions for the product. It took me a while to figure it out and assemble it. What is much worse, however, is that this mount, although it claims that it can "mount virtually anything anywhere", is a total joke because there is nothing to fix the base plate to the dashboard. No matter what positions I tried on my dashboard, it kept on rolling all over the place. I tried to call the customer service number and email the customer service. There was no response. I will return it to amazon and please avoid this if you intend to use it in a car.

Solid as a rock October 24, 2008
I installed this on the dash of my Freightliner Classic 18-wheeler, which by no measure is a smooth ride, and this mount keeps the GPS unit as solid as you could wish for. Despite the constant vibration of 10,000 miles/month the unit has never vibrated loose.
