Editorial Reviews:
Product Description External antenna allows GPS signal reception in heavily shielded vehicles and those with heated or metallic coated windshields.
Amazon.com Product Description Boost the satellite reception of your Cobra Nav One GPS navigator with this external antenna. Compatible with the Nav One 3000 and 3080 models, the antenna delivers improved GPS reception in heavily shielded vehicles or cars with heated or metallic-coated windshields. It can also enhance the signal when driving through crowded urban environments with large skylines or in rural areas with significant canyons and tree cover. By connecting the antenna, GPS operators will reduce the likelihood of interrupted service in the midst of a trip, making the drive safer and more convenient. The MNA 2300-EXT antenna plugs into your GPS's external antenna jack and comes with a 6-foot telephone-style cable. If the cable proves too short, operators can extend it using a standard telephone cable extension cord.

Customer Reviews:
Cobra NavOne Ext Antenna April 6, 2008 Maybe it works ok, maybe not. A couple of times I have waited a long time, 5 minutes, to have the GPS unit recognize the satellites and it still didn't. The External antenna's light blinked green to show it had a good fix with the sattelites but the GPS still didn't recognize them. I found that restarting the GPS by turnning it off and back on seemed to fix the problem. This may be a problem with the NavOne 4500 software.
