Really???? October 31, 2007 Just like his other book what a waste of money. Purchasing higher number of books does not equal more information. So far both the books I read from Gene are very similar.

This book is packed with useful information. It is fully illustrated and very easy to read. While reading this book, I frequently found myself thinking "hmm... that's interesting". My personal library contains many books about fishing, but this one is heads and shoulders above the rest. A true "must have" for any beginner, and an entertaining supplement for the experienced angler.
Dense but readable September 15, 2005 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great little book. Its both a excellent introduction to freshwater fishing as a whole, and an indispensable pocket reference. Very approachable, well illustrated and no filler. No 'secret' fishing techniques, just whats been productive year after year.
Excellent, compact dictionary for fishing, must for beginners May 25, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is excellent book... especially for quick reference w.r.t different sport fish,.. verry well edited . I highly recommend this book. I bought 3 other books on fishing,...but i must say this one is the best... though it lacks the colorful pictures other expensive books have,.. it can be an awesome on-site reference book,... especially for the price, i would say, go for it,....
Freshwater Fishing tips and Techniques June 11, 2003 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Hi, name is Zach. I'm from the Gettysburg area middle school. I read this book for more information on how to fish. This book also teaches you more about the outdoors. This book is very educational. The book isn't hard to read, but is a pretty long book. This book gives you tips on how to cast, put hooks on,and clean your catch. There is much more but I'll let you find out for yourself.
