I really like these, and can't believe how I went so long without using something like this. This device works and looks 10x better than the ones I seen at Murray's auto stores, that one looks really fake (but will work good as a backup I suppose). I've ordered 2 of these for both of my vehicles. At night, they look really really real. The AAA batteries seem to last for a long time; I just leave them on all day, and it's still going, but I'm gonna buy really good batteries next time. The only thing, is I seemed to move it around my dashboard during installation, trying to figure out the best place to put it (to be visible for thieves). It has to be visible and hopefully the thief won't figure out is is fake.
It does really look real, especially at night. I actually think it's an even better visible theft deterrent than my friend's $400 alarm flashing light. I think the trick is to install it so the would-be-thief cannot see that it is attached by velcro.
Overall, I would highly recommend this product, it would probably deter an amateur thief anyways. I would also recommend it to work together with another theft-deterrent product, such as 'the club' or something like that. Oh ya it also gives stickers you can put on your window, and they look real too. For about $10 it's worth the extra protection.
