 MH-120 Handheld Great radio December 27, 2008
Everything I wanted in a handheld radio. Would recommend this radio to anyone. Batteries lasted 4 days continual use.

Seems to be a powerful radio,with great range,BUT you have to be very carefull not to turn on by mistake resulting in dead batteries.Had to tape the power knob off.
hand held Ship to Shore radio August 25, 2008
I purchased this same unit from a different vendor 6 months prior and was very pleased with it . I was waiting for someone to have this same item on sale at the same price and I got free shipping . I felt it was a very good deal for the price.

A very good unit. The unit comes without the rechargable battery & charger, but it has suprisingly good battery life using standard 8 alkaline AA batteries. I have used it for three weeks intermittently and it still shows "full" battery level.

Although, this radio was listed as refurbished you wouldn't know it except for the photocopied operations manual. After putting in the batteries, I found the radio to have a great receiver with excellent audio quality.
The transmit range is satisfactory and what is expected for a portable. In order add an external antenna you have to find an SMA connector with a small profile because the connector is slightly recessed.
The 3-channel scan feature is really handy. The weather radio is also quite good. Overall this is a nice marine portable for a bargain price.
