Garmin Portable Friction Dash Mount January 8, 2009 Garmin friction mount, very easy to use anywhere on my dash, never moves, totaly adjustable for viewing at all angles, GPS removes easily for storage, mount removes easily for storage.
Garmin portable friction base January 7, 2009 Have used a friction base before and found that the base works well and GPS stays in place and no window suction cup marks.
I recommend this for every GPS owner January 7, 2009 I like the fact that this leaves no marks on my of my car interior surfaces, the window mount leaves a stain on the windshield and obstructs vision. This flexible heavy dashboard mount is idiot-proof and easy to stow and go. Amazon pricing makes it a great steal and must have for every GPS owner.
Garmin Mounts: Portable Friction Dashboard or Another Mount? January 7, 2009 First, this is a fine product (with a minor exception) and does exactly what it is supposed to do. That is: be portable and hold your Garmin firmly. The exception is the "angle" of the actual mount stem protrusion. It is almost 90 degrees, which is fine for the dashboard but nowhere else. You cannot tilt your Garmin upward very far for better viewing when placed at an elevation lower than the dashboard. Perhaps if the stem were smaller so the mount point was almost fully spherical, that would help. But, simply changing the angle of the stem would make more sense. I now prefer to use a flexible cigarette lighter mount approximately 10-12 inches long that includes another lighter socket for the power supply. Further, this device is much lighter for travel and use in rental cars than is the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for Garmin nuvi models.
Easy fix to fool thieves January 7, 2009 This product is everything it was claimed to be. No evidence in sight that you own a gps. My Garvin Nuvi 350 adheres to it perfectly with no sliding around.
